History

Wing Sing Tong, consisting of a main building and kitchen, is located in Sai Wan, Cheung Chau. It was built in 1925 by Ms. Law Cheung Hong and the female Taoist priest, To Cheung Hing. The temple adopts a simple Chinese folk architectural style and layout, housing both the temple itself and dormitories for self-combing women. The main hall enshrines Kwun Yum, and on Kwun Yum's birthday, devotees come to the temple to worship, borrow from Kwun Yum's treasury, and enjoy vegetarian meals. It is currently a Grade III historic building.

Objective

We aim to provide traditional places for the public to worship temple gods, goddesses and the deified heroes.

Effective from 2 February 2026, the ownership of Wing Sing Tong is officially taken over by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals; and the existing operator, Ms. Wong, will continue to operate the property until further notice.
