I consider myself as very lucky to be able to see the lion dance during my 30-min visit to the Tin Hau Temple. I miss the time when there are huge celebrations held all across Hong Kong on the birthday of Tin Hau before the pandemic - that is probably the most colourful time of the year. Tin Hau, also known as the Goddess of the sea, is widely worshipped by fishermen in Hong Kong. Tin Hau's Birthday is celebrated today (on the 23rd day of the third lunar month every year). Due to the pandemic, many of the celebrations are cancelled/scaled down this year. Where am I? Yau Ma Tei Tin Hau Temple (Near Yau Ma Tei MTR station, Exit C)
